Seorang remaja dari Indonesia bernama Kafka memiliki hobi memfoto minifigure LEGO® yang hasil fotonya seperti komik atau potongan dari film animasi. Dia baru saja memulai fotografi minifigure LEGO® kurang dari 2 bulan dan hasilnya sudah terlihat sangat baik. Memang sebelumnya dia memiliki pengalaman memfoto Gundam dan figur skala 1/12. Kemampuannya beradaptasi memfoto minifigure LEGO® sangat baik sehingga karya yang dihasilkan sangat menakjubkan sekali.

Iya, kalau total memfoto mainan sudah 4 tahunan. Foto Gundam sekitar 4 tahunan, foto figure 1/12 selama 1 tahunan. Sudah sejak 2017.

Apa yang menginspirasi diri anda di dalam fotografi LEGO®?
(What inspired you into LEGO® Photography?)
Dari melihat karya karya milik orang lain, dan melihat uniknya cara mereka membuat LEGO® [minifigure -red] yang tidak posable, menjadi sangat ekspresif.
From seeing other people creations and seeing how unique they managed to create non-posable LEGO® [minifigure] into something more expressive.
Berapa lama waktu yang diperlukan untuk sekali sesi foto?
(How long does it take you to do 1 photo session?)
Untuk foto indoor biasanya memakan 40-90 menit per 1 foto, kalau untuk foto outdoor yang biasanya bergenre action biasanya membutuhkan waktu 1,5 jam untuk mendapat 2-3 foto.
For indoor photos, it usually take 40-90 minutes per photo, for outdoor photo with action theme, I usually need around 1.5 hours to get 2-3 photos.
Apa saja tema dari foto-foto anda?

Terkadang action, atau scene apa saja yang terlintas di kepala saya.
Sometimes action or any scene that pop into my mind.

Saya suka berusaha sefleksibel mungkin mencocokan gaya foto saya dengan gear yang saya miliki.
I like to try as flexible as I can to match my photo style with any gears that I have.

Saya dulu pakai Picsart dan Adobe Lightroom Mobile untuk membuat fotonya lebih menarik, sekarang cuma pakai Adobe Photoshop saja.
I used to use Picscart and Adobe Lightroom Mobile to enhance the photos, now I only use Adobe Photoshop.

Salah satu hal tersulit dalam memfoto lego adalah membuat minifigure kita terlihat ekspresif. Kuasailah cara pose dan buatlah minifigure kita agar terlihat se ekspresif mungkin agar pesan dalam foto kita dapat lebih tersampaikan.
One of the most difficult thing in taking LEGO photo is to make the minifigure looks expressive. Master the way of posing and making the minifigure as expressive as you can in order to convey your intended message.

Banyak sekali foto aksi! Hasil efek khususnya sangat keren. Foto-foto yang diambil terlihat seperti aksi perkelahian jarak dekat pada film animasi. Pengarang rasa foto-fotonya kalau disambungkan bisa dijadikan film animasi dan lebih bagus dari komik malahan. Pengalaman Kafka ternyata baru kurang dari 2 bulan, tetapi hasilnya sangat menakjubkan. Kemungkinan karena sebelumnya dirinya telah berpengalaman membuat foto Gundam atau figur 1/12 dan dia bisa menerapkannya dengan baik untuk memfoto minifigure LEGO®. Di usia yang sangat muda ini foto kreasinya sudah sangat baik. Terus kembangkan kemampuanmu, anak muda!
So many action photos! The special effects are astounding. The photos taken look like close-up fighting scene from animation movie. The author thinks if the photos are connected, they can be transformed into animation movie and even better than comics. Kafka’s experience is less than 2 months, but the result is amazing. It could be due to his past experience in taking Gundam or 1/12 figure photos and he can implemented it with LEGO® minifigure photo. In a very young age he can already make great photo creations. Keep improving your skill, young man!
