Sudah berapa lama anda mengkoleksi LEGO®?
(How long have you been collecting LEGO®?)
Saya Koleksi sejak anak anak di tahun 90an, lalu masuk Masa Dark Ages di tahun 2000 awal. Setelah itu mulai koleksi lagi mulai tahun 2006. Jadi sekitar 14 tahun sejak aktif kembali tahun 2006.
I have been collecting since childhood in the 90th, then I enter into the Dark Ages Era in early 2000. After that I start collecting again in the 2006. So now it has been 14 years since I continue collecting again.
Mengapa anda menyukai LEGO®? Apakah ada ceritanya?
(How can you like LEGO®? Any story behind it?)
Waktu masa anak anak, sepertinya semua anak memang suka LEGO®, Pada diri saya nampaknya kesukaan pada LEGO® itu tidak luntur meski sudah bertumbuh dewasa. Yang saya ingat ketika kecil awal kesukaan saya adalah karena Minifig LEGO®. Ada persepsi saya waktu kecil, semakin banyak memiliki Minifig LEGO®, semakin bagus.
When I was a kid, it seems every child like LEGO®. For me, my love of LEGO® does not goes away when I grow up. What I can remember is I like LEGO® due to the minifigures. I have my own perceptions that the more minifigures I have, the better it will be.
Di mana anda memajang LEGO® koleksi anda? Apakah bisa terpajang semuanya?
(Where do you display your LEGO® collection? Can you display them all?)
Saya memiliki kamar khusus utk LEGO®, yang isinya lemari lemari pajangan dimana LEGO® koleksi favorit saya (castle, pirates dan modular dipajang). Namun tidak semua koleksi bisa dipajang karena keterbatasan tempat oleh karena itu sisanya saya masukkan didalam kontainer box ukuran sedang berdasarkan thema (dalam keadaan sudah terakit).
I have my own LEGO® room that I fill with display cabinet where I place my favourite LEGO® collection (to display the castle, pirates and modular sets). But not all of my collection can be displayed due to space limitation. And that is why the rest of my collections are placed inside medium sized container boxes according to the themes (fully assembled).
Apakah anda memiliki ketentuan khusus pada diorama kota atau koleksi anda? Mungkin tema khusus atau set tertentu.
(Do you have special preference for your city diorama or collection? Maybe theme, sets or specific builds.)
Bisa dibilang saya ini lebih fokus koleksi LEGO® tahun 90an, dimana masa 90an adalah masa LEGO® ketika saya masih anak anak dan tidak kesampaian memiliki dan hanya bisa membayangkan melalui katalog. Dan karena saya memang penggemar film perang / kolosal maka tema LEGO® yang menjadi favorit saya juga adalah Castle, Pirates, Western, Space, dan City/Town/Paradisa. Khusus utk tema Space, saya baru mulai koleksi tahun 2020 ini karena kecebur. Awalnya hanya mau melengkapi koleksi set kecil Space yang dimiliki ketika kecil namun beralih menjadi melengkapi semua set Space yg ada di tahun 90an.
I can say I have been focusing more on the 90th LEGO® sets where the LEGO® on that era is when I was a little kid and I could never owned it (I can only imagine it from looking at the catalog). And because I am a fan of war/collosal movie, my favourite LEGO® theme is Castle, Pirates, Western, Space and City/Town/Paradisa sets. Just for the Space theme, I just started my collection in the year 2020 because I had plunged into it. Initially, I jus want to complete small Space set that I owned when I were a kid but in the end I completed all Space sets available from the 90th era.

(Wow, the set themes that you collect are various. Where did you get all of those sets?)
Utk melengkapi set-set tahun 90an, selama ini kira kira 10% Beli set langsung di Bricklink, 70 % Beli Hunting Part di Bricklink, 20 % beli Part/Set di Facebook KLI.
To complete the 90th sets, I approximate that 10% of it I bought from Bricklink, 70% from assembling them using parts I bought from Bricklink and 20% I bought from Part/Set directly on KLI Facebook.
Apakah ada tema lawas yang setnya telah berhasil anda koleksi keseluruhannya 100%?
(Are there any vintage sets that you successfully collected into 100% completion?)
Saya rasa set set Castle, Pirates, Western, Paradisa, Space (tahun 90an) untuk koleksi saya sudah atau hampir 100%.
I think I have or nearly have 100% of sets from Castle, Pirates, Western, Paradisa or Space (the 90th era) themes.
Apakah koleksi anda pernah dipajang di suatu even atau pameran?
(Have you had your collection displayed in an event or exhibition?)
Ya, pernah saya ikutan memajang koleksi LEGO® Castle saya di acara Toy Fair tahun 2008,2009 bersama Klub LEGO Indonesia (KLI).
Yes, I had my LEGO® Castle collection displayed in Toy Fair event in the year 2008, 2009 with Klub LEGO Indonesia (KLI).
Set-set yang anda miliki apa ada yang disusun menjadi diorama?
(What are the sets that you combine into diorama?)
Tema-tema apa saya yang dijadikan diorama? Iya pernah. Karena saya memiliki banyak baseplate hijau,biru dan road untuk mendukung diaroma, maka saya pernah membuat diaroma City, Castle, Pirates, Paradisa, Space dan Western.
Themes that I create into diorama? Yes I did that. Since I have many green, blue and road plates to create diorama, I have created diorama for City, Castle, Pirates, Paradisa, Space and Western themes.
Dengan pengalaman yang begitu banyak di dalam perLEGOan, maukah anda membagikan pengalaman lucu, seru atau menarik kepada para pembaca?
(With so many experiences in LEGO®, would you share your funny, exciting or interesting experiences to the readers?)
Ketika Klub LEGO Indonesia dibentuk tahun 2006, hanya ada belasan atau 20 an member AFOL yang terlacak selama 1-2 tahun pertama. Saya kadang masih malu mengatakan kepada teman teman pergaulan bahwa saya masih koleksi LEGO® karena banyak orang orang yang ketika itu menganggap aneh orang dewasa masih main LEGO®. Lalu ketika KLI diberi kesempatan oleh ALJ [saat itu merupakan distributor resmi LEGO® in Indonesia] untuk berpartisipasi membuat Pameran LEGO® terbesar yang pernah saya alami di Indonesia dan berlokasi di Mal Senayan City sekitar tahun 2008 atau 2009. Sejak itu saya rasakan adanya perubahan perspektif masyarakat terhadap LEGO® dengan naiknya jumlah peminat LEGO® dari AFOL yang bergabung di KLI. Sekarang sudah dua puluhan ribu member di Facebook KLI dan sekarang sudah menjadi hal biasa dimana mana di indonesia bahwa orang dewasa masih koleksi LEGO® (bahkan banyak artis disini yang koleksi).
When Klub LEGO Indonesia was formed in the year 2006, there are only a dozen member or about 20+ AFOL registered in the first 1-2 years. I was still ashamed when telling my buddy that I collect LEGO® because so many people at that time thought that it was very strange for an adult to play LEGO®. Then when KLI was given a chance by ALJ [was the authorised distributor for LEGO® in Indonesia] to participate with the largest LEGO® exhibition (I think) in Indonesia which is located in Senayan City Mall around 2008 or 2009. After that I feel that there are changes in the perspective of society about LEGO® which is marked by the increase of LEGO® enthusiast registering with KLI as AFOLs. Now there are more than twenty thousands of members registered in KLI Facebook and it has become more common in Indonesia that adults can collect LEGO® (even a lot of famous artists collect it).
Anggap anda dapat menyampaikan pesan ke perusahaan LEGO. Apa yang hendak anda sampaikan kepada mereka?
(Let's say you can convey a message to The LEGO Company. What are the things that you want to tell them?)
Karena saya adalah penggemar LEGO® Castle. Dan sudah 5 tahun Perusahaan LEGO tidak mengeluarkan LEGO® Castle maka masukan saya adalah Tolong diremake kembali Lego Castle atau diloloskannya set Castle dari LEGO® Idea.
Since I am a LEGO® Castle fan and it has been 5 years since the last LEGO® Castle set was released, my input is for The LEGO Group to please remake the LEGO® Castle theme or at least approve Castle set from LEGO® Idea into official set.
Apakah anda memiliki pesan kepada TFOL atau AFOL dari Indonesia?
(Do you have some messages for the Indonesian TFOL or AFOL?)
Mungkin saran saya adalah para AFOL dalam koleksi LEGO® sebaiknya fokus ke beberapa tema yang paling di favoritkan. Sebab banyak sekali tema LEGO® yg ada, sehingga jika tidak fokus, akan banyak sekali pengeluaran tak habis habisnya utk LEGO®. Ada juga semboyan KLI yang sudah melegenda yaitu “Lebih baik menyesal membeli daripada menyesal tidak beli suatu Set LEGO® incaran.”
Maybe my advice for fellow AFOL in collecting LEGO® is to focus more into several themes that you love the most. Since there are so many themes on LEGO®, if you do not specialise, you will continuously keep spending money for LEGO®. And there is another slogan from KLI that has become legend which is “Better to regret buying rather than to regret for not buying the LEGO® set you want.”

Hal pertama yang harus pengarang katakan adalah “Waduh TUHAN!” Koleksi yang dimiliki oleh Timmy benar-benar super duper menakjubkan! Dirinya memiliki set-set lawas tema Castle, Pirates, Paradisa Dan Space! Selain itu dia memiliki semua set Modular Creator Expert hingga yang tahun 2020. Dia juga memiliki set-set City/Town lawas. Kalau dapat bermain dengan koleksinya pasti akan berasa seperti di surga LEGO® karena bagi anda penghobi LEGO® yang lahir di tahun 80-90 an tentunya akan sangat familiar dengan set-set ini dan anda akan berasa kembali ke masa-masa kecil bahagia anda.
Pengarang setuju dengan Timmy bahwa persepsi masyarakat bila orang dewasa bermain LEGO® seperti anak-anak. Sebenarnya persepsi ini juga masih ada di negara-negara lain dan juga negara maju. Tentu saja kita semua sebagai hobbyist LEGO® harus bisa memperkenalkan bahwa LEGO® juga dapat dimainkan segala umur. Untungnya di masa sekarang persepsi bahwa LEGO® merupakan mainan anak-anak telah berkurang.
Timmy menyatakan bahwa koleksi LEGO® lawasnya yang bertema Castle, Space, Paradisa dan Western sudah lengkap atau hampir lengkap 100%! Harus saya katakan ini merupakan sebuah pencapaian yang sangat hebat! Saya salut, bang! Kamu harus mempertahankan koleksi ini dan mewariskannya ke anak-cucumu, bang! The first thing that the author have to say is “Oh My GOD!” The collections owned by Timmy is super duper amazing! He owns vintage sets from Castle, Pirates, Paradisa and Space themes! Beside that he owns all Creator Expert Modular sets up to the year 2020. He also owns vintage City/Town sets. If you can play with his collections, you will feel like in LEGO® heavens since to those of you that were born in the 80-90 era, you will be very familiar with these sets and you will experience again your happy childhood time.
The author agree with Timmy that the public perception that Adult who plays with LEGO® is childish. Actually this perception is also experienced on other countries even developed countries. Of course we as AFOLs have to let people know that LEGO® can be played by all ages. Fortunately, the perception that LEGO® is toy for children has been lessened nowadays.
Timmy mentioned that his vintage LEGO® collection themes such as the Castle, Space, Paradisa and Western is already or nearly complete 100%! I have to say that is a fantastic achievement! My hat is off to you, bro! You have to keep and inherit them to your children and grand children, bro! If in the future you don’t want to inherit them, the author is ready to swoop them all, lol. Keep collecting and assembling LEGO®!!
